The Resort

St Gervais is superbly situated 60 minutes drive from Geneva airport and just a few miles from Megève and Chamonix. A turn-of-the-century spa town, it offers all the beauty of a small Savoyard market town with its traditional buildings, rich heritage, baroque church and pedestrian areas. Around 100 years old, the Hotel Le Regina is located in the centre of St Gervais and ideally situated for the access to the many bars, shops and restaurants as well as to the ski lift, 10 mins walk away or a resort ski bus The nearest bus stop is 20 metres from the hotel.

Generally considered to be the greatest and most spectacular ski area in the world, the Mont Blanc region of St Gervais/Megève together with the Chamonix valley is also the most varied and scenic, with Mont Blanc, Europe’s highest mountain as a constant back-drop. The majestic mountain with its glaciers and forested slopes provides extensive sporting and sightseeing opportunities both winter and summer.

The “Evasion Mont Blanc” ski area offers 500 km of slopes and 125 ski lifts from an altitude of 1000 to 2350m over Saint-Gervais and Megève and via the Mont Blanc Tramway to Les Houches in the Chamonix valley. For those wanting a real challenge, the ski pass “Mont Blanc” gives additional access to the whole of the Chamonix valley plus Courmayeur in Italy. You could take on the world famous ' Vallée Blanche' – said to be the longest ski run in the world at 23km, or the World cup 'Kandahar' downhill run at Les Houches. See below for details of our regular private minibus trips to ski resorts ‘further afield’ based on demand and snow conditions.

For non skiers there are hundreds of marked paths on the mountain for walking or snowshoeing, a skating rink, ice-hockey, sleigh rides and the picturesque towns of St Gervais, Megève & Chamonix to explore (and shop till you drop!). The Aiguille du Midi 3742 m cable car and the Mont Blanc Tramway provide a high altitude thrill without the exertion. Taking the opportunity to see more countries as part of your trip, a scenic train ride through the Chamonix valley leads to Switzerland, or the famous Mont Blanc tunnel takes you on a day trip to Italy. St Gervais (or to give it its full name, St Gervais Les Bains) is also a turn-of-the-century spa town, and the thermal baths, pampering beauty treatments and health-giving therapies make a welcome respite from the outdoor activities at any time of year. See piste map.

If the wide open slopes of St.Gervais, Megève and St.Nicolas de Veroce (all ski-able from St.Gervais) aren’t enough for you we also have an in-house minibus service that regularly runs scheduled trips to the nearby resorts of Les Contamines (a hidden jewel with a great North-West aspect, Chamonix (home of the Vallée Blanche) and Les Houches (with it’s Olympic downhill).

The region comes alive in summer with the sights and scents of alpine flowers, green meadows and the fresh air rolling off the glaciers, whilst Mont Blanc maintains its snow cover, giving inspiration to a new generation of alpinists and mountain enthusiasts.

The Mont Blanc region has become known as the mountain holiday centre, and for good reason, as the choice of activities available is vast: walking, biking, climbing, mountaineering, paragliding, rafting and canyoning; the towns of St Gervais, Megève and Chamonix also have excellent infrastructure including year-round lift access to the slopes.

For those looking for a more sedate holiday, there are plenty of spots to sit and read or catch a few rays whilst taking in the views. Photographers beware, you’ll need plenty or film or memory cards! There are also plenty of opportunities for seeing more of the area, with both Courmayeur in Italy and Martigny in the beautiful Valais region of Switzerland within 50 minutes' drive. The picturesque town of Annecy with its beautiful lake offering a range of watersports and lakeside activities offers a great day trip.

TGE will be happy to organise your vacation as you like it. We are happy to arrange day trips, guided ski tours and extra winter / summer sports activities either before or during your stay.

We provide a range of cycle hire, off-roader pushchair and climbing equipment.

Driving & parking
Alternatively, driving from Calais takes about 8-9 hours (without stops). The French motorways are very quick but don't forget the tolls which will total around £45. Note that snow chains are a legal requirement in winter. In summer we welcome visitors on 2 wheels or 4; motorcycling around the Alps has to be one of the experiences of a lifetime!

The hotel is directly opposite a large public short term parking area. If you are on two wheels, off road parking is available.
